             (5th Sept. 2011, Monday)

This post is dedicated to 'Teachers from Bollywood movies'.

There are several movies in which teacher-student  relationship has been shown very nicely.

We still remember old black & white movies like 'Do Aankhen Barah haath' where a jailor tries to rehabilitate some criminals. The entire movie is based on how he teaches them the lessons of humanity.Rajkumar starrer movie 'Bulandi' in which badboy Danny turn into good guy.

We have comedy movie like Shagird where I.S.Johar, a teacher learns 'How to impress a girl' from his 'Shagird' Joy Mukherjee. A movie 'Prahar' where all the armymen learns  'Mushqil Waqt Commando Saqt' from  Nana Patekar. A character of Naseeruddin Shah from movie 'Sir'.

We do have movies like 'Main hoon Na' where an elder student Shahrukh Khan  sings 'Tumhe jo maine dekha' for his Chemistry teacher Sushmita and also movies like 'Chupke Chupke' in which Professor (Amitabh) tries to Pataofy Jaya instead of teaching botony. No wonder he was  more interested in Romeo Julliet than Corolla :)

The list does not end here.Who can forget the friendly College Principal of KKHH Anupam Kher & a School principal (Satish Shah) who eats student's tiffin from movie BhoothNath.  We have seen Music teacher Raj Aryan (SRK) giving love lessons to his college students in Mohabbatein and so on...

In this decade also we saw some good Teacher-student relationships in Bollywood movies.

I have selected my 3 most favorite Teacher-Student jodis from recent films here.

Movie: BLACK
Teacher: Debraj Sahai (Amitabh Bachchan),
Student : Michelle McNally (Ayesha Kapur/ Rani Mukharjee)

Coach/Teacher : Mohit (Naseeruddin Shah)
Student: Iqbal (Shreyas Talpade)

  The most admired Teacher-Student jodi..

Teacher: Ram Shankar Nikumbh (Aamir Khan)
Student : Ishaan Awasthi ( Darsheel Safary)

A good teacher is like a candle - it consumes itself to light the way for others.

  1. Really good collection from Bollywood.

  2. Yes,the common factor of these movies is..the student have some medical problem & still teachers find best out of them...

  3. 'nasruddin shah' in SIR and 'amitabh bacchan' in BLACK will always remain my favorite on screen techers :)

we owe a lot to those who impart us good values and knowledge...cos without them, we wouldnt have been half of what we are today.

Love in the times of samsung galaxy tab
